BUCKY, "Inheriting the Legacy"
The Coming Tide
Solar Eclipse and the US Chart
“A revolution is coming – a revolution which will be peaceful if we are wise enough; compassionate if we care enough; successful if we are fortunate enough – but a revolution which is coming whether we will it or not. We can affect its character; we cannot alter its inevitability. “
--Robert F. Kennedy
We are a nation of immigrants. The original settlers were individuals who rebelled against the religious intolerance in their home country and traveled to the "ends of the Earth" in order to find freedom of expression. Once here, their religious beliefs, still rooted in patriarchal prejudice, became the basis upon which our predecessors rationalized the enslavement of the indigenous people of Africa, and through the concept of Manifest Destiny, the genocide of the indigenous people of North America, the dislocation of those who were left, and the confiscation of their land and its resources. (Pluto in Capricorn 9th conjunct the lunar south node in Aquarius relative to Uranus in Gemini 1st, lunar north node in Leo relative to its ruler, the Sun conjunct Jupiter and Venus in Cancer 2nd). For 240 years this national attitude has been perpetuated in one form or another, with the exception of a very brief period in the middle of the 20th Century.
At the Solar Eclipse at 19° Pisces on March 8th, we see the confirmation that an increasing number of the US population are becoming aware of illusions and delusions inherent in the way our "American Dream" has unfolded, and a new national identity begins to actualize. (The eclipse exactly semi-sextiles the US Moon in Aquarius 10th, trines the US Sun in Cancer 2nd, and opposes the US Neptune in Virgo 5th. The ruler of the eclipse, Neptune, trines the US Sun conjunct Jupiter, and closely squares the US Ascendant and Uranus in Gemini 1st, the ruler of the US Lunar South Node. Transiting Jupiter conjuncts US Neptune). Our country’s pathology is exposed for all of its violent and perverse inequities, as more and more people of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds and political perspectives voice collective outrage, advocating a therapeutic national reclamation. At present we do not all agree as to the methods by which our country needs to be healed, but our country is coalescing around a consensus for change. (The eclipse and transiting Chiron in Pisces square US Mars Gemini 1st.)
The desire for a new, more open and inclusive set of values and priorities will not be silenced. The collective voice rebels against the current political and cultural polemic, as people take to the streets, and to the polls, to confront our national and international priorities, question the management of our natural resources, and to dispute the gross inequities of our cultural behavior. (Transiting Mars in Sagittarius quincunx US Venus in Cancer 2nd. Transiting Jupiter square US Uranus. Transiting Neptune trine US Venus, Transiting Venus in Aquarius quincunx and Uranus in Aries applying to a trine to US Mercury in Cancer 3rd).
The line is drawn in the sand. Nationally we are at an evolutionary turning point. The American people are no longer willing to accept the failure of our elected representatives to hear their needs, and are insisting that laws be changed and new laws enacted that finally, after almost 250 years, guarantee equality under the law, and that recognize the sacredness of the land and the essential resources it contains, which is the legacy of future generations. (The eclipse forms tight a sesquisquare and semi-square to the US Lunar Nodes. Transiting Saturn in Sagittarius 7th sextiles US Saturn Libra 5th, opposing US Mars Gemini 1st, sextile US Moon Aquarius 10th, opposes US Uranus, and squares US Neptune. Transiting Jupiter trine US Pluto).
This Eclipse, with its overwhelming predominance of Piscean energy releases the floodgate of collective emotion. The cultural levies constructed on patriarchal and oligarchic agendas are collapsing. A new dream is emerging into waking reality...and it will not go back to sleep.
